Thailand has become the popular destination for Vietnamese tourists. Normally, first-timers to Thailand will visit Bangkok and Pattaya. If they have time, they will come to Chiang Mai or beaches in the Southern such as Phuket and Koh Samui. However, if you want to find a beach that is not as crowded as Pattaya and near Bangkok to save time and money, Hua Hin is a great choice. These are suggestions to explore Hua Hin in 3 days and some useful information about that place.

About Hua Hin

Hua Hin is located about 200 kilometres to the Southwest of Bangkok capital. It had been the palace of Thai Royal with many parks and historical sites. Hua Hin houses 5-kilometer stretching coast with white sand and clear blue water. There are also many mountains and caves here.

The weather here is warm all year round. The time from December to May is the best time to swim and visit because it rains little.

How to get there

The high-quality bus runs directly from Suvarnabhumi airport to  Hua Hin. You buy the ticket at the gate number 8 on the first floor. The price is 269 bahts. The bus runs every one hour and a half for a trip and stops at the bus stop between Soi 98 and 96. The ticket is often sold out early, so you should book the ticket in advance through website

VIP bus in Hua Hin (via prabury-property)

Below is the easiest and most saving way to get to Hua Hin. You come to the ground floor at Suvarnabhumi airport and buy the train ticket to Bangkok centre with the price of 45 bahts. You get off at the last stop Phaya Thai then catch the train (the green one) to the Victory Monument station. From here, catch the minibus to Hua Hin with the price of 180 bahts. The bus runs every 30 minutes a trip, so you don’t have to wait for a long time. If you depart from Bangkok centre, you also take the train to Victory Monument station. Note to bring small suitcase when going this minibus because this car does not have storage compartment  carrying large suitcase will be charged double! The bus runs quite fast. It takes about 2 hours and a half to get to Hua Hin.

The minibus stops at Hua Hin centre. From here, you can take the green taxi to go anywhere you want. This taxi runs from Hua Hin city to near Khao Takia Temple.

Mini bus back to Bangkok: You come to Day market, Night market that is opposite to Soi 57 (near the train station). Traveling by train is much slower than travelling by mini bus.

In addition, you can get the traditional bus from Sai Tai Mai ( in the South Bangkok) to Hua Hin with the price of 180 bahts. However, getting to that place is not convenient because there is no train station near there, you have to take the bus or taxi.

If you have time, traveling by train is also an exciting experience. You can buy the ticket at Hua Lamphong station with the price of 200 bahts. It will take about 4 hours to get to Hua Hin. The train stops at Hua Hin station – a very famous tourist destination in Hua Hin.

Hotels in Hua Hin

The hotels in Thailand are diverse with reasonable price, so you have many choices. You should book the room that Night Market or train station to convenient for travelling.

  • Hana Guesthouse: The price is about 350.000 thousand dong. The budget room can accommodate 2 people.
  • Hua Hin Lub Sabai: the price is about 450.000 thousand dong for 2 people. From here, you can walk to the beach or Hua Hin Train Station.
  • Ansu Guesthouse: the price is about 400 thousand dong for 2 people, near the beach.

Hotels which are suitable for family with kids or honeymoon.

  • Visa Hotel Hua Hin: 3-star hotel with beautiful view.  The price is about 600.000 thousand dong for 2 people. The hotel accommodates 40 rooms with balcony and one swimming pool.
  • Ayrest Hua Hin Hotel: 4-star hotel with luxury atmosphere and swimming pool. The price is about 1 million dong for 2 people. The room is large and clean with beautiful view. The disadvantage is that it’s about 5 kilometres from the hotel to the centre.
